BOOKS UNKNOWN & UNHEARD-OF

Readers of Gambara are hereby invited to submit reviews for possible inclusion in our ongoing series, Books Unknown & Unheard Of.

As the name implies, this series concerns itself with neglected or out-of-print books that should be neither neglected nor out-of-print, as well as literary reviews of non-literary books, so long as those books have a similar dejected air of having been unjustly treated. No subject matter is off-limits, and finished reviews will be considered, but we strongly suggest that you query us with a brief description of the book you are interested in reviewing before you write the actual review, just to save some effort and time all around.

As an example of a neglected novel, we direct the reader to our inaugural review. Reviews of books of poetry or literary essays (including criticism) are also welcome, so long as they fall under one or both categories, "neglected or out-of-print." We don't want reviews of stuff on the New York Times's best-seller list. We have already read those reviews, and some of those books, over our morning coffee.

As an example of a non-literary book which can be reviewed in a literary fashion, we direct the reader to our second review.
