There is a NEW CAT in the house!!!!

Saturday June 25th, began like any other Saturday. My people got up even later than normal, fed me, changed my water, etc. Then my people went out into the outside world. When they returned, they brought with them something that would change my world--Chez World--forever.

At first I wasn't so sure about Toby, he's very little and very bouncy. He kept trying to pounce on my tail. But now we're good friends (after only four days). We chase eachother aournd the house and yesterday I even gave him a lick on his head when he woke me up from my afternoon nap. Want to see some photos?

New Strings for an Old Stick

For those of you not in the know, The Stick is the absolutely unparalleled plaything that Torrey made for me last year. Originally The Stick had leaves, actual real leaves -- she had trimmed it from the bamboo plant outside the front window. Now that was fabulous. I love everything that comes from the outside world. Unfortunately, at first I ate all of the leaves (which definitely unsettled my stomach), but Torrey saved the day by tying a bunch of short strings onto the end. Wow! I thought The Stick couldn't get any better, but I sure was wrong: this thing is truly inspirational. To catch The Stick I often jump as much as three feet in the air (of course, my jumps have gotten a bit smaller as my belly has gotten a bit bigger). Every few months, Torrey replaces the shredded old strings with new strings. This is a major event in my life. I would write more about it, but now I really have to go play with The Stick.

Fresh Water ... for the sixth time today.

If only my people would change my water every hour, on the hour. That is one of my fondest hopes. Do you have any idea how much dust can settle on the surface of still water in just an hour? And then it starts to get that old, flat taste. It's simply terrible, and this is just an hour we're talking about. Sometimes it isn't changed for a truly horrifying twelve hours.
